Kodey Park Bambino, Community Organizer for Clark County and Columbia-Willamette

Kodey

I originally came to Portland, Oregon to be a student at Reed College. It’s been 4 years since I graduated and I am still so happy to be here! I have worked at Pride Foundation for the past 2 years, and I am continually reminded how lucky I am to work with staff members who are so talented and dedicated. One of the best “perks” of this job, is that I get to have in-depth dialogues with regional leaders who are passionate, smart and invested in the LGBT community. When I am not working one-on-one with our regional leaders or supporting local Pride Foundation communities, I am out listening to Christina Aguilera or trying to catch a brief 15 minute session of yoga with Rodney Yee!

Marie Gagnon, Database Manager

Marie

I’ve been with Pride Foundation since August 2000, managing the database and creating systems to keep track of constituents and information. My job rocks! When I’m not working at the office, you can probably find me in my Pioneer Square studio covered in paint, struggling with a canvas that refuses to behave. Pride Foundation and the painting work in synergy, creating a positive force and critical balance to my right and left brain with the added bonus of being able to work toward social justice.

Contact Marie to change your address or mailing information, questions about your giving history, to make a gift over the phone or if you have a question about your pledge. Also, if you’ve made a gift through your workplace, please let Marie know so she can make sure it gets in the database.

Kevan Gardner, Regional Program Director

Kevan

I have been with Pride Foundation since October 1998, and in that time, I have met with literally hundreds of LGBTQ community members and our straight allies across our five states. I recently relocated to Portland from my hometown of Spokane, and am still getting adjusted to the coastal climate. I am continually inspired by visiting folks in our community and hearing first-hand about the amazing work happening in all parts of our region. When I am not out networking with LGBTQ activists, I can be found frolicking in nature or watching old Bette Davis films.

Contact Kevan for: information on regional outreach, especially in the Black Hills area, Central Washington, Southern Idaho, Oregon (outside of Portland) or for the states of Alaska and Montana.

Farand Gunnels, Regional Program Coordinator

farand

I am a Two Spirit Native American from the Crow Nation and was born in Crow Agency, Montana in 1972; and then raised in Billings, Montana. I moved to Spokane, Washington in 1993, where I met my partner, David in 1996. I began my journey with Pride Foundation by serving on the local steering committee which, in 2002, led to my current job. I am passionate about the work I do at Pride Foundation, whose Mission, Vision and Values ring true to my heart. I enjoys outreaching to rural communities, hearing their stories, and being able to see communities strengthen and grow.

Audrey Haberman, Executive Director

Audrey

I often say that I have the best job in the world. I love the people that I interact with everyday, the volunteers, donors, grantees and staff that make up the Pride Foundation. I am also happily reminded of our community’s incredible generosity and tenacity. I came to Pride Foundation 11 years ago and can’t imagine ever leaving this engaging and creative crew. I was recently honored to be named the Outstanding Community Leader by the GSBA and enjoy serving as VP of Programming for Philanthropy Northwest. I live in Seattle, with my partner Marge, our 3 kids and 2 aging dogs.

Contact Audrey: ideas for community partnership, suggestions for our work, to talk about collaboration, Pride Foundation’s strategic plan.

Jeff Hedgepeth, Grants Program Director

I grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Though fond of everything big-city, I also cherished summers on my grandparents’ farm in rural North Carolina, where I helped raise most of our food and went without indoor plumbing. My first gay activism came in my freshman year in college, 1969, when I joined the gay campus organization and found myself appearing on public panels. I have been out and proud since then. My partner John and I moved west in 1978. I worked in higher education administration until I came to Pride Foundation in 2000. We work hard here and we have fun. I love seeing the array of projects being done to improve our community and witnessing the amazing strides we are making in our fight for equality. Outside of work I love to cook and garden, and spend quiet time with the hubby and our dog Tut.

c. dean jackson, Community and Racial Equity Initiative Project Organizer

dean

Hello friends of Pride Foundation! I’m c. dean jackson and I’m glad you’re interested to know more about me. I grew up in Seattle with a brief and wildly fun stint in NYC. I’m currently based in Tacoma, WA. My work with Pride Foundation is primarily outside of King County, WA and I love that! I am honored to work with the Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Queer, Gay, Transgender and Allied community from Montana to Alaska. My roots are in early childhood education and grassroots organizing. At home I love to work in the soil and hug trees! I thank my blood and non-blood ancestry for supporting my work, vision and voice.

Zan McColloch-Lussier, Director of Communications

zan

I have lived in Washington State my whole life, moving steadily north from Hazel Dell, to Olympia and now Seattle (look out Bellingham!). After 8 years of working at Pride Foundation I still find so many fun and new things to do! I love my job, because I get to work with so many of the groups that we have funded, and also talk to people about why they are charitable. All in all it gives me so much hope for our community. When I am not working on our website or newsletter I am usually at home, either playing baseball with my kid, or elbow deep in some house project or a recipe that involves 18 or more ingredients.

Anthony Papini, Scholarship Program Director

anthony

I am a Seattle-area native of Italian immigrant parents. I spent several years working in higher education. Prior to joining Pride Foundation as the Scholarship Program Director, I happily reviewed scholarship applications as a volunteer. I am committed to issues of social justice and learning and enjoy getting to witness so many incredible, emerging LGBT and straight ally student leaders achieve success through education. When I am not at work, I enjoy practicing Italian, making a huge mess in the kitchen, and traveling to fun and exciting places.

Jody Waits, Director of Community Giving

jody

A Detroit native, I bring a mix of an appreciation for the smell of a diesel engine as well as a great recipe for lemon bars. I’ve been in Seattle for a baker’s dozen of years and have had the true privilege of raising resources and building friendships for many great organizations including Women’s Funding Alliance, Child Care Resources and the Girl Scouts of Western Washington. The intersection of – generosity, values, joy and action – is my favorite place. Away from work you can find me digging in a thrift store, chatting with my mom, cracking open a dusty book, researching gluten-free recipes, watching PBS, volunteering for a political campaign or rocking out a game of pinball.

Contact Jody regarding: a gift to Pride Foundation, starting a donor advised fund, sponsoring an event, making a gift of stock, hosting a house party or starting a giving circle.

Craig Williams, Development Associate

craig

Jack of All Trades. Renaissance Man. The Catherine O’Leary of his time. These are a few of the ways my professional life has been described. I prefer when things run smoothly and I find I have a knack for making that happen (except for that one time…). I grew up in New York and I adore the east coast, but Seattle is my home. The University of Washington was only going to be a place to pursue my degree in Architecture, but once here I just couldn’t leave. I love the fact that my job involves helping people pursue higher education. It was the first step for me getting out in the world and a wonderful one at that. I like long walks on the beach, dinner by candlelight and my humor dry. Did I mention I’m a Sagittarius?

Contact Craig regarding: humor, sarcasm, credit card gift renewals & changes, or updating your address.

Jimmy Worm, Director of Finance and Operations

Order. I love order. If it can be alphabetized, color-coded, or aligned, I’ll probably go there. I left the tornados and black widows and rattlesnakes of my Arkansas dairy farm for Washington State twenty years ago. When I’m not counting numbers and paperclips, I write and record music and work on my little orange house. Oh, and I love peanut butter. Mmm, peanut butter.
