In honor of Pride Foundation’s 25th Anniversary, Pride Foundation/Columbia Basin is kicking off their first annual Pride Foundation Rainbow Awards, to honor individuals and organizations whose efforts have had a positive effect on the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community of the Columbia Basin. Nominations are now open and being accepted until June 15th, 2010! Please
use our nomination form to let us know about a leader or organization that you think is deserving of recognition.
This year’s Rainbow Awards will be apart of Mid-Columbia Pride week, and held on Friday, July 16th at the Allenbaugh Farm, in Kennewick WA at 6:00p.m. The evening will feature an awards program, dessert and refreshments. The Columbia Basin Rainbow Awards recognize people and organizations in the Oregon counties of Morrow, Umatilla, Union and Wallowa and the Washington counties of Benton, Chelan, Columbia, Douglas, Franklin, Grant, Kittitas, Klickitat, Okanogan, Walla Walla and Yakima.

25 Years of Stories
A scholar who is now a diplomat, a donor who believes every small step makes a difference, an organization that found an innovative way to teach Anchorage’s high school students about HIV. These are just some of the stories you can read at IamPrideFoundation.org, a new site that celebrates our 25th anniversary through stories.
After 25 years of giving together and building community there are literally thousands of stories that show the remarkable progress made in our push for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender equality. We will continue adding stories throughout the year and we hope you will include yours. While there be sure to check out our timeline and the listing of special anniversary events happening around the region throughout the year.
The LGBTQ Community Awards are an annual part of celebrating Pride Week in Piece County,WA. Now in their fourth year, the LGBTQ Community Awards honor individuals and organizations whose efforts have had a positive effect on the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and allied community of Pierce County.
Nominations are now open and being accepted until Thursday, June 3rd, 2010. Please use our nomination form to let us know about a leader or organization that has inspired you while on the path to equality for all people and families. A listing of prior year’s awardees is included within the nomination form for reference.
This year’s LGBTQ Community Awards event will on Friday, July 9th and hosted in the Rainier Room at Freighthouse Square, beginning at 5:30pm. This gathering is the night before Out in the Park and is free and open to the public. Light appetizers and dessert will be served. We look forward to seeing you!
