Pride Foundation awards grants to 501(c)3 organizations or organizations with a 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor that are based in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington. We are transitioning to a web-based grant application system.

A guiding principle of Pride Foundation granting is Social Justice Philanthropy. Social Justice Philanthropy for Pride Foundation is about:

  • Harnessing the tools of philanthropy (grantmaking, fundraising, communication, and advocacy) to address the ways in which we (the LGBT community) are connected to systemic inequities that impact other marginalized and underrepresented groups in our society
  • Supporting nonprofit organizations and leaders that work for structural change
  • Increasing the opportunity and engagement of those who are marginalized politically, economically and socially

In keeping with these principles, Pride Foundation is pleased to announce its 2011 Pride Foundation Granting Cycle. Pride Foundation will strive to balance funds awarded to projects in: arts and recreation; education, advocacy and outreach; health and community services; HIV/AIDS; lesbian health; and youth and family.

Maximum Grant Award: $5,000

Letter of Inquiry applications will be available on line, www.pridefoundation.org, June 15, 2011. Complete on-line LOI applications are due no later than Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11:59 pm CST. Additional instructions listing the specific requirements of the Pride Foundation are provided.

After review, if you are invited to submit the full application, you will be notified by September 10, 2011. The completed full electronic application will have a deadline of September 23, 2011. This allows just two weeks, so tentatively schedule time for this task. Granting decisions will be announced by late November 2011. Funds will be available mid-December 2011.

If you have any questions or need more information regarding this process, please contact our Grants Program Director, at (206) 323-3318 or toll free at 1-(800) 735-7287, or email [email protected].
