Tell UsPride Foundation Fellowship Program seeks to cultivate leaders and strengthen the Pacific Northwest LGBTQ community. This fellowship experience will provide an opportunity for professional development as well as an introduction to the work of community leadership organizations by matching exceptional Pride Foundation Scholarship recipients and other LGBTQ and ally students with Pride Foundation grantees and other organizations committed to LGBTQ equality.
This program is open to current college students only (this includes students enrolled in community college, four year public or private colleges/universities, graduate school, professional programs, vocational or trade programs) pursuing any degree or major. High school students are not eligible for Pride Foundation Fellowships; however, high school seniors can apply for our scholarships!
Applicants will be asked to provide basic contact information, summer availability, a list of applicable skills and areas of potential development. A non-family professional or academic reference is also required.
Pride Foundation Fellows will have the opportunity to work with select Northwest non-profit organizations on various projects, events, and programs that have a positive impact on the LGBTQ community. Details about the available opportunities are in the application. There are six internship opportunities this year. They are located in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Please see the application for details.
Applicants will be asked to rank their top choices to help the selection committee determine eligible matches. Pride Foundation Fellows are paid a $3,500 stipend for their work. The stipend is divided into three payments over the summer. Fellows are expected to commit to 200 hours of work at their internship site (20 hours per week for 10 weeks). Applicants must be available from June 15, 2012 to August 19, 2012 for their assignment, but specific hours negotiable.
The application is in Microsoft Word DOCX format. If you have further questions or need assistance, please contact [email protected].
Applications are due January 31, 2012. We unfortunately cannot accept late applications.
Individuals who applied can expect to receive a decision regarding their application by the end of February. Applicants will have the opportunity to meet with their host organization supervisor before agreeing to participate.
