$340,000 Propels 108 Students in their Education
You can be sure that the LGBT community will have strong and passionate leaders for decades to come. The 108 students who comprise our 2010 scholars share a strong desire to give back, incredible perseverance and a focus on how education can improve their lives and their communities.
They are very diverse in their educational pursuits, studying everything from nursing, fine art and welding, to theology, business and early childhood education. Their backgrounds are equally diverse, from being single parents to the first in a family to attend college, to the children of lesbian parents. Their ages range from 17 to 50 years old and come from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
