Hello, Senator [SENATOR] this is [YOUR NAME], one of your constituents and a voter.

I’m calling to urge you to vote to pass the Employee Non-Discrimination Act. I firmly believe, as do a majority of Americans, that employment decisions should be based on a person’s qualifications and work ethic. It goes inherently against our American values to fire someone based solely upon who they are.

This legislation gives all Americans a fair shake at working hard to get ahead without discrimination or bias.

Currently, 29 states have no law protecting a lesbian, gay or bisexual person from being fired just because of who they are—and the same is true in 34 states for transgender people.

Our country’s most successful large and small businesses know discrimination hurts the bottom line. A host of civil rights, labor, and religious organizations also support this legislation. As your constituent, I am asking you to do the same and vote in support of ENDA (S.815)

Thank you.
