Reggie Bass was born in Bessemer, Alabama, in 1952. In the late 60’s, Reggie came to terms with his sexuality and admitted to himself and others that he was gay. In the late 70’s, he moved to Reno, Nevada, where he met his soulmate. In 1997, Reggie’s other half passed due to AIDS. Today, after 25 years of being a Nurse, Reggie is pursuing a degree in Social Work at University Alaska Southeast in Juneau so he can continue to work in service of others. Reggie received the Equal Access & Opportunity and Alaska Regional Scholarships.
