Katie Carter has been working for social justice as a nonprofit professional for the past 10 years, with a particular focus on LGBTQ and gender justice. Before joining Pride Foundation, Katie was the Development Associate at Oregon Tradeswomen. Prior to that, she was the Program Director at In Other Words Feminist Community Center. Katie earned a Master of Arts in Philosophy of Science from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Philosophy from DePaul University.

In addition to her professional and volunteer commitments, Katie is an avid reader of feminist and political writing, philosophy, poetry, and memoir, and has had a lifelong interest in science and the natural world, particularly animal cognition and behavior. She also enjoys crafting, watercolor, writing, everything having to do with cats, and all bodies of water, especially the Oregon coast.
